Resources for Challenging Times

In recent conversations with friends, family and those I work with, I have noticed an increase in questions/statements like "why do I feel like this today... why am I so tired... why cant I get started/finished on X project... I shouldn't be feeling like this". There seems to be an increasing expectation that somehow we should be feeling and functioning "normally" by now ie as if we are not still living through a global pandemic (plus navigating Brexit, tricky decisions for many around the forthcoming festive period etc etc etc)!

It is important to remember that we are continuing to live through incredibly difficult, stressful, scary, frustrating, restrictive and abnormal times which unsettle us, activate our threat system and inhibit our usual coping, sense of closeness/connection/belonging to others which helps us to feel safe and contented.

We are (thankfully) getting there; there is light at the end of the tunnel, but we are not there yet!

This list of resources from the Compassionate Wellbeing site might come in handy and facilitate a more reasonable, compassionate perspective and response to our continued struggle:
