"My Truth"

A recent substack.com post by Professor, Psychologist and Psychotherapist Jonathan Shedler about the statement "my truth". What might it offer the speaker/listener and when might it get in the way of developing self and shared understanding of our experiences and difficulties?

He writes "Perhaps “my truth” is just an expression, born of the human need to be seen, heard, and taken seriously" or perhaps it might cause psychological harm?
