The decision to begin therapy is a brave one and not to be undertaken lightly. It involves turning towards our struggle and the things that are difficult to acknowledge/accept. It can be hard to look at more vulnerable or shamed parts of ourselves than are hidden underneath.
This recent tweet by Dr Emily Anhalt is a good reminder of the challenges and benefits of therapy: to see ourselves and our experiences with more humanity and compassion and "free up space inside you for healthier and more loving things".
