My Background and Qualifications
I have worked within mental health settings since 2003. I completed my doctorate in Clincial Psychology (DClinPsych) at Staffordshire University, which covered a wide range of therapeutic approaches, with a focus on CBT and systemic / family therapy approaches.
Since qualifying I have been based in Yorkshire. I was the Senior Clinical Psychologist for a complex trauma and personality inpatient service for several years. I was also a Senior Psychologist in an outpatient department, seeing adults presenting with a wide range of difficulties. Alongside this I was the Clinical Lead for the Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) service.
I have also worked at the Yorkshire Humberside Personality Disorder Partnership (YHPDP) in Leeds as a Senior Clinical Psychologist, working closely with probation services and prisons to support individuals with a diagnosis of personality disorder who had committed an offence.
Alongside individual therapy and running therapeutic groups I have supervised other health professionals and other psychologists. I also regularly contributed to the teaching of Trainee Clinical Psychologists on the topic of working with trauma and have offered training to other health professionals on a range of topics.
